Who Are We?

Na Gaeil Óga ar a GAA club based in west Dublin. Since it's foundation in 2010, Na Gaeil Óga has been Ireland's fastest growing sports club. We have 30 teams with over 500 members.

We strongly believe that with sufficient support every club player can fulfil their potential as a player and as a person, which will stand with them throughout life, not only on the pitch but also in the wider community.

"We have made a name for ourselves as a modern GAA club who help our players develop on and off the pitch"

Our Story

Na Gaeil Óga was founded in 2010 by a group of young people for young people.

A group of students came together at the time, unenthused and tired of the lack of opportunities for them to use Irish in their everyday lives.

As well as that, they felt that many GAA clubs in the city had gone astray. There were too many big clubs lacking a community element with a sole focus on winning matches.

It seemed as though they didn't have the same interest in children's development or equipping them with lifelong skills.

"The most valuable asset of a club is it's culture. From day one we wanted to create a culture that helped players reach their potential and enjoy life through the medium of Irish."

Daithí de Buitléir,
Founding Chairperson
Na Gaeil Óga CLG

Our Present

There are around 30 teams playing for Na Gaeil Óga, surrounded by a wholesome and vibrant community.

We have juvenile teams for boys and girls born from 2008 and younger, as well as an adult structure that has been thriving for many years at this point.

Our juvenile temas are located in Lucan. We support children from  Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada, Gaelscoil Naomh Pádraig & Scoil Uí Dhálaigh in reaching their potential in sport and in personal development.

You will find more on our juvenile teams here.

Our adult teams train in the Phoenix Park. A varied mix of players are welcome in the club from Dubliners to players from every stretch of the country, players at an advanced playing level to players who might be a bit rusty, native Irish speakers and those who might only have a cúpla focal.

Find the right team for you here.

"I wished for more of a welcoming culture for my child, a culture that focused on every child's talents and that guided them to flourish. The first time I walked through Na Gaeil Óga's gates I knew that that's exactly what I'd found."
